Give a Gift They Actually Want
Gift Ideas for the Holiday Season
It’s that time of year again and if you’re anything like me you’re behind on holiday shopping! As I began to go through my list of family members I started to feel overwhelmed with what I could get each person that would feel special and personal. As easy as it is to grab a gift card, this year I wanted to give something that maybe that person normally wouldn’t spend money on but would love to have. I wanted it to be unique to them and something they could keep for a very long time, and that led me to… Photography! Duh.
There is something so special about having photographs to look back on, in any season of life.
Whether it’s your parents’ 40th anniversary or your baby's first birthday, whatever the occasion, people cherish photographs that they can keep forever and share. One thing that has been on my mind lately is just how precious life really is and how much we should celebrate every day, even the days that might feel insignificant. Offering a custom photoshoot session to someone you love gives them an opportunity to pick an occasion and make it special by having a photographer there to freeze the moment in time.
I decided to sit down and list out all the occasions you could gift a photography session for to someone special in your life. But wait, you might say, how do I even find this photographer? Well, obviously if you’re in the NY or LA area, I’d love to be there to capture the special moment for you. However, if you’re somewhere else, I’ve included an easy and quick way to search for a wonderful photographer, just keep scrolling. First though, you can download the full list of occasions right below by entering your email. This list should help generate some great ideas for the Holidays!
HOW TO FIND A PHOTOGRAPHER IN YOUR AREA:
One of the easiest places to begin would be by simply putting out a Facebook post asking if anyone has worked with a photographer they love. However, if it’s a surprise and your friend or family member happens to follow you on Facebook you may want to try another option!
A great alternative is to do an easy hashtag search on Instagram for photographers within your area. You’ll be able to see their style directly on their Instagram page and see if it fits what you have in mind. I’d suggest reaching out to 2-3 photographers you find that you like and then discussing your budget with them to make the gift happen.
